For those who have had a very very small wedding for example, parents and siblings, niece nephews.

What sort of venue, set up did you have?

trying to get some ideas.

It depends on how many guests. We’ve booked an elopement venue that has a maximum of ten guests including the bride and groom.

We had 30 people plus people I know via church and colleagues. Church service and cake in the hall (open to all) then rented a room above a gastro type pub for a 3 course dinner that was £40 a head for our 28 guests, mostly family plus a couple of good friends. Had a local musician play live music afterwards and invited colleagues to join us for the evening. Total cost including the entire bar bill, fees, suit and proper fitted dress was £6k. Amazing day. Trick is to not book a venue with a wedding licence, they add £10k to the bill despite having the church wedding, in fact they tried to tell me that there was no point to having a church wedding, I disagree!

We had a registry office wedding with just immediate family. Only 12 of us in total as we don’t have big families. We picked a nice registry office, and then went for an early dinner in a nice restaurant. It was so lovely, and I’m so glad we did it that way.

We had ours in a gorgeous country house hotel. Just the 2 of us. 2 hotel staff were witnesses.

It was perfect for us, we were older and second time round for both of us.

Just have the wedding you both want. it's your day. Congratulations :)

We had 13 including us, plus 2 toddlers - DS and DN. Country house hotel - everyone arrive night before and dinner there, get ready in the morning, ceremony, meal and cake in the afternoon/evening. No evening do as such just chilling in the lounge area with a cheese board and the cake.
Everyone really enjoyed it. There were things I’d do differently if we hadn’t had the toddlers but I was really keen to get on and get married - all arranged within 6 months

We had a condensed wedding day at a luxury Georgian style hotel/restaurant . We had approx 40 people including ourselves, and had our ceremony followed by large canapé style food, small individual portions of fish and chips, sausage and beans, macaroni cheese etc) and we cut the cake and had speeches. Me and my husband then departed for photos around our city and guests left around that time too. Me and my husband went for a meal with our parents and some siblings in the evening just at a local restaurant as well .We had a lot of feedback that is was a memorable wedding as it captured all the good parts of a wedding without the negatives like the day dragging on and waiting around etc! It also was extremely budget friendly and cost us a maximum of 2.5k and as I was pregnant at the time it meant I wasn’t tired out from a full on day.

I had a small wedding with 10 people including us. Popular Scottish wedding venue followed up by a pub meal and drinks after. We had a big village hall type party the weekend after. No fancy dresses, no photographer as I hate all that stuff. Total was around £1.5k. Really enjoyed it!

A friend of mine had a small wedding with just close family — around 10 people — and it was honestly so lovely. They booked a countryside Airbnb with a gorgeous garden and brought in a private chef to cook a special meal. It felt really personal and intimate, and everyone had such a relaxed, meaningful day.

Ours was a little bigger. We got married at the Registrar’s Office avd had a garden party afterwards.

We had just us, the dc and immediate family, so parents, siblings and their dc. I couldn't have missed anyone out of that group without being unkind and unappreciative of the role they'd had in our lives. A total of 18 and perfect!
