Small wedding - 10-11 people - approximate budget?

Hi there,

We are looking at a tiny wedding - probably registry office? - for just immediate family, with the idea of going out for a meal after. Does anyone have any really positive experiences of this scenario, and an approximate idea of how much the wedding might cost?

ETA: We are in the South East, and what I guess I’m trying to understand is venue + unavoidable fees are for this type of wedding. Exclude food, photos, clothes and rings x

How long is a piece of string? Surely it can be as cheap or as expansive as you make it. Eg pub meal or fancy restaurant. Dress from your wardrobe or brand new £3k wedding dress.
drink Diet Coke or drink best champagne ….

There is a minimum cost for a wedding - council run registry office - from I think a minimum of 200 to average over 1000

dinner per head at 20 per head and another 20 for drinks would be another 400

rings? Outfit? Transport ?

after that it depends what you actually want - posher dinner? Private room for the dinner ? Champagne?

We are planning something similar - also in the South East. Fees for the ceremony - either Church or a small room in a Registry office are about £500-600. A statutory ceremony in a registry office would be cheaper, just us and two witnesses, but it seems so difficult to book. We have been looking at a few different ones but they only offer eg 1 weekday morning a month at 9.30 and they're snapped up. For a meal afterwards we've been quoted approx £900 for a nice private room and food and drink for around 15 guests.

All depends on what you choose with every single thing.

Meal at a local pub or meal at the Ivy?

Second hand/highstreet dress or a fancy boutique option?

Surely if you’re using a registry office they’ve already told you how much that will cost. Anything else on top of that is up to you.
