Well, basically what it says in the title! Is this dress suitable for a registry office ceremony? (in July)
it’s a small affair, we only have 12 people coming.
and we are a bit older. But this is the bridal dress I was eyeing up. Thoughts?

It’s your wedding, you can pick anything you like! The wedding venue has no bearing on the choice of dress, neither does your age.

Why wouldn't it be? I wore a non-white (and very non bridal) dress to my registry office ceremony. Wear whatever you like. Personally I look horrendous in white so wanted to avoid.

My sister wore a full, white, lacy, lots of net wedding dress for her registry office wedding. I wore jeans and a nice top for mine. Anything that you are comfortable in and feel good in works.

You can wear anything you want at a registry office, from full meringue with train to jeans and a T shirt.

I used to work next door to the register office, and saw brides in everything from street casual to the most OTT you can imagine.

I think the days when registry offices had a very “second marriage” vibe and brides were expected to wear a suit or a more demure (and non-white) dress are long over. I’m sure you’ll look great 🙂

You can wear whatever you want regardless of registry office! You could wear a massive princess gown if you wanted, or a bin liner - it’s only up to you!!

But (as everyone else has said), it’s your wedding and you can wear whatever the heck you want as long as you’re happy. If this is the dress that makes you feel fabulous and special, then it’s the one!

The bride can wear jeans, if she likes - there are no rules. My friend wore a little black dress, a la Audrey Hepburn, and looked very chic.
