That’s it really. Same sex couple with two children, looking for a very low budget wedding venue.
We are East Midlands, but happy to travel if it’s the right place.
Looking for somewhere small as it will just be us, our two kids and two whitenesses . Keeping it on the down low so really not wanting anything extravagant.

Thank you so much!

What's your budget, and is the venue for the ceremony itself?

PumpkinSpicedLatte · 06/01/2025 09:23

@xmasdealhunter yes we would like the venue to be where the ceremony is. I’m really not sure on budget, we want it to be as low budget as possible as it’s a bit of a runaway wedding x

Registry office? Some are quite nice.

You could look for a pub/restaurant that also has a wedding license, rather than a specific wedding venue to keep the costs down.

We did a registry office and then a private room in a pub. As soon as you mention wedding to a venue the price goes up.

For such a small wedding, I’d probably have a registry office wedding followed by a really lovely meal. A number of restaurants have private rooms if you would like a space that is just your own so you can say a few words or even play your own music.

You could always pick a registry office somewhere you really like or in a place which is meaningful to you and your family and make it a day out.

I don't have a specific venue to recommend, but I'd suggest getting married in Scotland. You don't have to live there, and you can get married anywhere so it doesn't have to be a registered venue.

The registry office in Warwick is lovely with nice grounds, Warwick castle in the background...then a hire a room in a nice pub nearby!
