Hi there. We are getting married in Spain next year with about 30 guests. Wedding on the beach then to a restaurant for a meal and then heading to a bar for the evening. I'm wondering what I should do about a cake. As we will be having a meal will anyone want cake straight away and because we are moving to a bar after its not like we can have the cake later on that night. I was thinking maybe cupcakes instead? Could get some nice personalised ones and display on a nice stand. I don't mind paying for a cake but I figure it will be a waste. What did you guys do? Thanks

I don't think anyone will miss wedding cake, if you don't have one. Their main purpose is to look nice, I think. I would just choose a dessert that you like, cupcakes would work fine.

You could have cake as/with the dessert or with tea/coffee before you go to the bar. Or as above poster said, ditch it and do something you think will work better

Just don’t have cake and buy everyone an ice cream

I just wouldn't have cake. I've been pondering this and I don't actually know why we have wedding cake or what its significance is. I do t think it is needed.
