Simple small civil ceremony - how long to book room?

Hello! I am booking a venue for my small, simple wedding at a town hall this summer. How many hours should I book it for? I think we just need time to get our guests into the room
and have the ceremony, right? We won’t have any additional decorations and I’m guessing the pre-wedding interviews can take place outside of the ceremony room? Feel like an idiot but I’ve never arranged a wedding before 🤪

Can they not advise you? When my mum remarried I think they only had it
For half an hour, we were in and in less than that.

Have been trying to get through to them via phone and email yesterday and today but no luck. Need to send booking form through soon to be within their 14 day window from when we made the tentative booking - which didn’t have a time or hours ascribed. Currently just have the day booked I guess?

Was the time left blank because they were expecting you to book an exact time with the registrars before finalising your booking?
You need to speak to your venue and the registrar about timings and what changes you will be allowed to make (such as flowers). The fees your venue have quoted will normally include the room for a standard length of time...so you need to talk to them about what is included.
