Plus sized brides

Hi everyone,

We've decided to get married next year- it's very much a casual thing to get it done and I'm not decided yet on whether I want to wear a wedding dress or something from the high street. Honestly dress shopping is part of this I'm really dreading. I hate my body in everything and know I'll end up paying a lot of cash to feel pretty miserable whichever way I go. I wondered if there's anyone else who is plus size, felt like this and did find a wedding dress who would be willing to send me a pic, brand name and price. I don't know where to start. I'm a rubbish girl- have always wanted to be married but the idea of a wedding makes me want to throw up!

Depends on what you are calling plus size - size 16 or size 22? If the former then most places (including bridal boutiques) will have choices for you. If the latter look at somewhere like Monsoon- a friend got married last year in one of their plus size wedding dresses (cost £82 in the sale) and looked stunning. She's a 22.

There's quite a lot of specific plus size bridal shops now. Worth trying on in them.
Another option for cheaper is the Oxfam bridal boutiques. They are donated often from designers and much cheaper. They do all different sizes. What kind of dress do you want?
