Is this OK for a Sept Italian Wedding? The dress code is glamorous?
A hat? Fascinator or no head wear?
Gold bag? I have gold shoes and gold accessories.
Or a completely different outfit?
I’m running out of time so advice would be great.
Thank you

I agree with PP that perhaps your dress is slightly too casual. It looks great though and the colours are perfect on you so I'd avoid cool colours like the white and blue/green floral one you linked to.

I love this x

I do too. With massive sunglasses, super-glam. Let us know what you order / end up keeping!

Hats and fascinators aren't a thing at Italian weddings. It looks like a very nice dress though!

No fascinator or hat at an Italian wedding, and I think I would wear a dress with plainer lines, not too flowery, and not with a frill at the bottom. However it would probably depend which part of italy the wedding couple come from, and what area the wedding is being held.

I think I your dress is perfect. The pashmina makes it look cluttered and more casual so I would leave it out. Carry a small gold shoulder bag - a clutch bag is just annoying when you have a drink and nibbles.

We're in Italyvat the moment and have come across two weddings, both very glamorous, more so than the Uk. Think very high heels, very well groomed.
Slightly joking, but look at the equivalent Hello type magazine for Italy or France to get an idea.

I’ve just ordered this for a French wedding in September next year, the bride has a very boho vibe so it won’t be uber formal, but this could be dressed up with accessories..

Will they have many Italian guests OP? I've been to a couple of Italian weddings and they are far more glamorous than any British ones I've been to. All of the Italian women were in floor length evening dress, you could spot the Brits in their cocktail length.

I think the dress in your picture might be a bit casual, sorry! For reference I wore the below to one of them and definitely felt a little on the casual side compared to the Italians.

Of course if the majority of the guests will be British, perhaps a different vibe.

I like the slightly subdued summer going into autumn colours look. For me, the glamour sandals should not have too high a heel but a comfortable one. Also, could you get a shawl/pashmina that had a slight sparkle in it with a bag to complement.

ranchdressing · 17/09/2024 18:12

You are thinking too English countryside - no linen, cotton, anything like that. You need to think more black tie, more red carpet vibe.

clevud · 17/09/2024 20:57

It depends on the type of wedding. Some are atrocious. Must say your lovely dress would not be considered elegant.Nobody wears floral dresses. But they will probably accept it because we are British and can't expect to match their style and taste.

I love your dress, but this is glamorous 😀

Nobody wears that in Italy! Unless you want to be laughed at
