Best way to give a cash gift at a wedding?

We are attending a wedding soon, and the couple have asked for donations towards their honeymoon. They haven’t notified guests of any way we can get money to them, and I’m slightly wary about putting cash in a card it case it gets swept up and lost in the excitement (wedding is outdoors and all very spread out).
I could ask for their details and just do a bank transfer, but that’s a bit dull.
Does anyone have any good ideas that might help me out? TIA

I'd rather dull and not lost ... in to the bank gets my vote.

Cheque?

I put it in a card and hand it to the best man.

I put the cash inside an envelope with a little card saying 'congratulations' on the front. Put the card inside a small ornate box along with two miniature bottles of Prosecco. Filled the box with shredded paper and confetti and tied a ribbon around it.

Have you checked if they plan on having a designated table for gifts and/or cards at the function? It's also popular to have a dressed up "post box" type thing for cards (with potentially money inside) to be deposited into safely.

Surely this is exactly what cheques are for

I’m not even sure I have a cheque book anymore. It’s the obvious thing to do, you’re right! Now where on earth could it be…

This is a great idea. Thank you.

Every one of the 5 weddings I have been to in the past 3 years has had a little postbox (maybe 3 feet high) for people to put their cash donations in at the reception/wedding breakfast. Or the afterparty/night-do if you're only invited to the night-do. Surely they will have something like this???

paulhollywoodshairgel · 29/07/2024 16:32

Last wedding I went to they asked for the same thing. They had a little locked, fancy postbox to put envelopes in....

I like the silk wedding purse idea from 'The Godfather' 😂😂😂

Write out your own “voucher” or print something off with the amount you want to give them. Then put it in a card asking them to text you their bank details after the wedding. If they’re too polite or forget send them a text a few days later.
