Wedding dress 😲🤯

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me a bit please
My partner and I are planning to get married in a couple of years, we have thought of most things that we would like. However I am stuck on the dress. I am quite small, (4ft7) small chested, and wide hips. Id say I'm about a 8/10 in top and about 10/12- 12/14 in bottom half. I have seen some beautiful dresses but start to worry that I'm going to look too childish with my small height. I'm not massively confident but really want to look special for our big day.
I have looked and looked online even on the petite but all still look too long.
If any one has any tips or even pictures that they think would help I would appreciate it thankyou

Bridal shops are amazing. They’ll help you get something amazing that fits perfectly.

I'm 4ft 11 I wore a dress to my calves it was a 50s style dress I wore a jacket with it, granted it was nearly 30 years ago but I was like you I didn't want to look like I was playing "dress up" in a floofy dress.

Dressmakers can alter dresses so it's in proportion they will come In standard length, go and try some on then you will get an idea.

Scarletttulips · 29/06/2024 14:41

They also lift the dresses from the waist so you keep the decorations in the bottom.

Yes this, you wouldn't lose any details or anything.

And the sleeves from the top, if necessary.
I'm 5'1, I think basically they took the nearest sized dress apart and remade it.

If I wear you I'd probably go for sleeveless or strapless so it lengthens your body .

There are some stores where you can customize dresses that you might want to check out.

Go to a small independent wedding dress maker they are surprisingly reasonably priced and will tailor a perfect dress for you

I’m 5ft and a size 6 and wore a ball gown style dress and it looked perfect. A good seamstress will be able to tailor it perfectly so just go with what looks good on you and worry about the length after. I got my whole dress taken in by a few inches and up by a few inches and it was 100%
