Hello, how many money shall I put in card for wedding gift from myself and partner.

If it matters for context.. had an abroad hen, taxis/hotels will be £60 minimum to get to wedding, paying for our drinks in the evening, a day of annual leave is needed.

How close are you to them? I’d say £50/100.

Generally people on MN say £50 - 100

I'd go close to 100 if you're bringing partner

How much can you afford? Don’t leave yourself short.

For friends I give £50, Family like cousins £80, immediate family £100. But only if you can afford it, no good friend/family member would expect money if it would leave you short.

It's interesting that you add for context the amount it's costing you. I would think the other way and think how much it's costing them to feed you etc.

Having said that, I went to a wedding where we had to pay for everything ourselves.... meal, drinks etc I can't remember how much I spent on the gift but I think I'd have probably spent less than I would if it was a free event.

I tend to give £50-£100 depending on how close we are.
