Two queries 1 wedding......

To keep it short and sweet....we are having a registry office wedding followed by marquee reception in local village pub garden. Sit down meal for day guests, then pizza food van in evening and ice cream van. Have ordered a single tier cake and cup cakes. Pizzas will be roughly 1 per person or 1 between 2 kids. Do you think I need to add a small buffet or table with crisps dips etc. It's August so aware people might not feel like buffet food that's been sat there for a bit in the heat. Plenty of takeaway options within 5 minutes walk.

Also seperate issue....should I be changing into a second dress later in the evening that will be easier to get off? I'm thinking fh will be of no use undoing the million buttons on the back when his been drinking all day and I doubt our teenage sons will want to help.

First 2 pics are my wedding dress, second 2 are the one I'm considering for later on.

Crisps, dips etc are friendly and sociable BUT you CANNOT have it sitting out all day. You MUST make arrangements to have smaller amounts served, cleared and replaced at regular intervals.

In hot weather, food safety comes first. Otherwise you run the risk if your wedding being remembered infamously for all the wrong reasons.

I was thinking of keeping in the fridge at the venue until about 9pm. Then putting some bits out. Only thing is if it's really hot people tend not to feel like eating much so I guess i may just skip the idea. If we decide to do so there is a spar round the corner so I can always send my eldest to grab supplies.

Pizza is really tricky for allergies. Gluten, dairy, nightshades.

Who’s putting nightshade on pizza?

Anchovies?

Tomatoes are in the nightshade family.
Anchovies are fish!

@heldinadream I was thinking autocorrect. Tomatoes makes more sense

I wouldn't do a buffet but for my daughter's wedding we did a crisp wall similar to this for those who were peckish.

You only wear your wedding dress once. Keep it on and look fabulous.

JustAnotherManicMomday · 27/04/2024 19:39

Pizza is fine, we have no one with allergies other than mushroom. Not on the pizza options selected. They also offer gluten free and vegan option. However none of guests need it. Looked into that before. Also few take away options near by. I will personally be nipping to chippy for our youngest if no one else goes as his autistic and will only eat that or mcdonalds take away wise. I'm not having maccies deliver to my wedding. Although it would go down a storm with the kids.

Your ceremony dress is stunning - the back is beautiful. I can see it wouldn't be ideal for the evening though, even if the train is removable. Get both and see if you feel like changing on the day. Congratulations!
