What to wear?

My partner and I having a very small wedding ceremony and plan to have a bigger event later in the year. I just have no clue what do wear, it'll be us and a couple of family members as witnesses. Probably go for a meal afterwards. I'd like a dress but wedding dress seems over kill. I mostly love floral midi dresses but can't find one that's suitable or if this would be ok? Any ideas, what have others done?

Congratulations!

Do you have a budget in mind? And what dress size do you usually wear?

People I’ve known who have a two stage wedding have tended to wear a very simple white dress for the small ceremony, and something more traditionally fancy for the large event.

Maybe something like this for the first?

The Carla - Lily Devoré Ivory

The sheer top layer with tonal velvet flowers dotted all over creates the perfect floral for all you minimal Dreamgirls or low key brides. With her boat neck and ankle length, is the silk dress you'll be reaching for.

You can wear whatever you want - maybe a full blown wedding dress for the first part might be a bit OTT but you could still opt for a simple white dress. Or if you like florals I love this one from silkfred. You could wear it with a more 'bridal' headband.
