Wedding invitation

Hope someone can advise and guide me on this one. So I've been invited to a wedding reception -- it's a very informal event in a barn mid October.
The invite just says to RSVP with number of ppl attending, children are welcome aswell.

I'm not sure about the etiquette for responding, I'm not originally from UK.

So it's from 7pm till late -- would it be acceptable to take along my 8 year old twins or would it be frowned upon?

Is it ok to take along a friend for company?

I don't want to seem cheeky by taking along too many people.

Thanks for reading

It says children are welcome so I don't see how you could be called cheeky by saying you want them to come, are you single? It so and the invitation asks how many people are coming I think it would be fine for you to take someone with you. if you are not sure can you ask the person who invited you if it would be ok?

Yes I'm single. Good idea I'll ask if I can bring a friend 😊
