I want to get married now

Having been with my DP for nearly 15 years since we were teenagers, I've never been sure I wanted to get married. It's a lot about how I've been brought up and not wanting to be the centre of attention. I've always known that i could choose how I'd like to get married though it's only now I can see it and think it would be a nice thing to do.

What I'm asking you is -

1. Tell me about your engagement story

1. If you once never saw yourself getting married and are now pleased you did it

I wasn't sure I wanted to be married for a while, parent issues haha, but as soon as I met my now future husband I knew I wanted to be his wife.

Our engagement story was perfect to me and probably rubbish to most other people 😂 we had looked at rings together because I'm quite untraditional and picky and he was really worried I wouldn't like a diamond or something similar (I have an emerald) and then on our 4 year anniversary he got down on one knee in the kitchen while Ibwas making a cuppa. Both of us in our pyjamas still, the kidd running wild around our feet. But perfect to me. I also don't love being the centre of attention and would have hated a big proposal etc. But now I'm planning our wedding for next year, not massive but not small. And relaxed and casual because again, if every one is staring at me all day I'll hate it and probably cry 😂
