My daughter has a space 17 amendment on her certificate (original middle name was Jane and we changed to Elizabeth for example). Her original name is at the top, however her legal new name is at bottom in space 17.
someone has said if we get married or civil partnership her original name won’t show - space 17 will move to space 2 and there will be no mention of her ‘original’ name.
can anyone confirm this? Has anyone re registered their child’s birth who had a space 17 amendment and can confirm this is the case?
