Dress help!

Hi!

We are getting married mid December, going away just the two of us. Our family all know, it's just easier to 'elope' as we live abroad and the paperwork to get married legally takes a long time to organise so just easier in general to do it elsewhere!

I've no idea what to wear. I do know I don't want a full on proper wedding dress, and I'd also prefer for a dress not to be white - however two of the ones I do quite like are white!

I'll attempt to link them below. Would they work?

Weather wise it will be late teen temperatures, so thinking sleeves instead of needing a jacket. Although a casual jacket would be ok if not too fancy, to wear there and back etc.

Again I've no idea with shoes!
White converse and a denim jacket are quite appealing right now!! But I'd rather be a little smarter!

Mid 30s, fairly short so don't want anything too long, above knee I think be better. I absolutely do not need a wedding dress, an any occasion dress will be fine!

I probably will go out to the shops and try things on in person, but also happy to buy some online and send back if not the right one.

Sorry I'm rambling! Any ideas? Thanks!

I think the first one looks like a dressing gown you'd pop on as you go for a shower.

Second link just takes me to a shop - not a particular dress / outfit

Third one looks to me like something you might pop on over your cossie when walking to the beach.

Sorry - but I kind of guess you want people to say what they think rather than make nice noises, or presumably you wouldn't ask on the internet.

The first one showed it had had quite a lot of views toady, so I'm going to guess others looked from this link and didn't quite know what to say.

None of those are cheap. If you have that sort of money to spend on a dress, then you will be able to do much better than that. This is your wedding ! Smile

second one looks more weddingy than the first and last. I agree with UsingChangeofName! the first one looks like a dressing gown!

Second.

I had a very simple wedding and just wore an off the peg wedding dress from monsoon. I think it was actually a bridesmaid dress. It was lovely and the right choice for me. They don't have my dress any more but I quite like this one

There’s a few knee length ones here, bit expensive but worth it I reckon!

I wouldn’t go with white as you’ll never wear it again
i like this one:

On a previous wedding thread, a poster put a picture of their own wedding outfit which was a beautiful slinky satin skirt with a very soft, fine cashmere jumper and they looked a million dollars it it. I can imagine it would be perfect for the weather and lives rent free in my head for the day I marry again/lose three stone.

Thanks all I'll take a look at the suggestions! I really don't think I want white, and I think shorter rather than longer just because maxi dresses are always way too long for me and drown me.

Hi OP do you like Needle and Thread dresses? I love this one:https://www.needleandthread.com/collections/dresses/products/iris-ruffle-mini-dress-moonshine

Is it on the right lines?

Hadn't heard of Needle & Thread - Wow! Some of the dresses are amazing! Not keen on the higher neckline but definitely going to spend some time browsing the website and see which ones stand out!
Thank you!

I love the first one! It seems perfect to me for your specific occasion. Not as over the top as a proper wedding dress, but with the sparkly sequins and the ivory colour it still looks bridal. I'd go for this and pair it with really nice smart shoes - no trainers or anything like that. Allow yourself a moment of glamour!
