has anyone been to a British wedding in Greece?

DP is from Asia, but I am from England. We cannot afford two weddings. I used to live in Greece and it is bang smack in the middle between the two families so we would like to have it there.

Dp and I have a very limited budget for a wedding of £15k.

Although 80 people will be invited we only expect 50-60 to come.

Any ideas for venues in Greece? Not looking at Santorini or Athens but anywhere else.

We are happy with something simple but would like an ocean view.

If you had your wedding in Greece I would love to know where and any insights into costs.

Also if you have any experiences of going to Greece for a wedding please share the venue.

My friends (not Greek) had a lovely simple wedding in NE Corfu (legal wedding in the UK). They had a blessing / ceremony where some of us stayed, in a private apartment complex with pretty grounds. They hired boats from Kassiopi, or near there, which took all the guests to a Greek restaurant in a tiny bay on a shingle beach. That was fun and dramatic. We had the wedding meal there, long and lazy, which went on until the end of the evening. Time to swim or paddle etc. Then we all got cars back to where we were staying. It wasn't too expensive as it was out of school holidays in June. We made a week of it, was lovely. This was waaay before Brexit and Covid and all the current things that seem to go wrong though.

A friend of mine got married on the beach in Naxos, and the wedding meal and party afterwards was in a beach front restaurant which they'd privately hired. I don't know any of the details around cost, logistics etc but Naxos is a beautiful island.

Just returned from a beautiful wedding in Rhodes. It cost the couple around 10k for 72 people including a free bar. It was beautiful.

Look up weddings in blue in pefkos in Rhodes. Really reasonable for guests too.
