Any September 2023 brides?

My wedding is in 4 weeks and I'm starting to feel just a tiny bit stressed!

In theory all the major things are sorted, photographer, menu choices etc but in the back of my mind I know there are things we are forgetting about.

Plus I'm worried about the weather (which I know I can't do anything about so worrying is completely pointless)

I don't like my dress anymore

Wedding is going to fall on the heaviest day of my period and my IBS has kicked off again after a year of being fine.

I'm sure on the day everything will be fine and even if it's not I'll enjoy myself anyway but just wanted to have a little vent.

Anyone else getting married next month and want to share a thread for stresses or happiness?

I'm getting married at the end of September and have a few similar worries. Everything had gone smoothly so far so I keep expecting something to go wrong! I'm also worried about the weather and I may also end up in a heavy period day (my periods are irregular but predicted on my wedding day).
The advice I can offer is only worry about what you can control and do what you can to fix it x

I'm getting married in 2 weeks and everyone around me says I'm very relaxed about the whole thing. It's been a very stressful year (just finished a house renovation a few weeks ago) but I think cos the wedding just feels so right for my fiance and I that it doesn't seem like a big thing.

Still don't have a first dance song nor have I worn in my shoes but otherwise I'm pretty much all set. Started the packing list for the venue so I don't forget all my wedding outfit items that I've stashed all over the house so my fiance can't find them - lists help keep me organised.

I think we will all feel a little disappointment if the weather isn't perfect but celebrating the two of us with our family and friends will make up for if it's raining.

We've all got this and are going to have magical days!

I'm getting married mid October, and it feels like it is creeping up fast! Only thing I need to sort is a welcome sign and a seating plan sign. We are having a small wedding with 40 guests and it has still felt like a lot to organise, but it is all coming together now and looking forward to it. I need to wear my shoes in a bit though!

Main thing that is stressing me out is eye lashes, sounds ridiculous! When I had my make up trial one false eyelash almost fell straight off and it has put me off. So I'm booked in for a lash lift and tint next week for the first time to see what impact it has on my lashes.

Got similar worries about the weather and even wondering if I should buy a bridal demin jacket if it is a bit chilly for the photos! Sure it will all be fine on the day though for all of us 🙂

I'm getting married in September. I'm delaying my period by taking Norethisterone - would that be an option for you? It's like taking the pill without a break.
I've been stressing about the weather but stressing won't change it - we've just bought big brollies.

Edthehorse · 31/08/2023 07:38

No I can't take it unfortunately 😔

I've decided to buy some period pants and wear them along with my usual stuff just for a bit of added peace of mind!

Definitely pointless for us to worry about the weather but I'm still going to 😅

We had our last dance lesson for our first dance last night. Don't think we look as horrific as I thought we would so I'm pleased about that!!

Have you all had hen do/stag do already or are they still to come?

I'm getting married on Saturday and I'm scared bit very excited. We are doing a very untraditional affair with no bridesmaids or speeches which suits.me fine. I do have a white dress etc. I guess it's like Christmas....you can keep the traditions that mean a lot to you and bin the rest!

vrouge · 31/08/2023 21:40

We had our hen and stag do's a few weekends ago which were both just low-key events on the same day but separate activities.

That's amazing OP that you've been having dance lessons for your first dance! I definitely wouldn't have been able to persuade my fiance to do that as he's super shy so we will barely make it through the song without getting others to join us on the dance floor.

Edthehorse · 31/08/2023 22:41

Oh we only dance just us for about 2 minutes then we are calling other people up to join us. I told him it was non negotiable 😅 amazed he agreed though!

We are also having a low key wedding, not getting married until 4pm, and we are having our 16 month old daughter as a flower girl rather than having bridesmaids. I'm not making anyone do a speech who doesn't want to. My dad is very shy and I'd much rather he enjoys the day rather than worry about public speaking. I have got a white dress but it really was a bargain online, I got it altered and I love it. I'm not having a hen do, there's no rule that says you have to have one. I did want to go abroad for the weekend with my best friend but we soon realised it costs a fortune these days, often the same as a week's holiday! My partner had a day out drinking with his mates for his stag do, but only to the next town so it didn't cost much and as they started early he was home by 9pm! We didn't really want the first dance, but the venue just wrote it into the schedule and now we are just going to go with it! We aren't hiring a DJ but making our own playlists on Spotify. Just praying everything goes okay 🤞

Me! I'm getting married next weekend!

Thought we were pretty organised, but the weekend's to do list suggests otherwise...

Congratulations to anyone getting married today

Edthehorse · 03/09/2023 07:06

My to do list isn't getting any shorter either! Although I do have things arriving from Etsy/Amazon so often that I have no idea what's in them at this point 😅

The weather next weekend is supposed to be gorgeous @Uncooperativefingers hope the forecast is right for you!

What is everyone's venue like? Ours is an old stately home that's now a (slightly run down but still nice) hotel.

We looked at Barns originally because I loved the whole rustic thing but just couldn't afford it and none of the local ones were big enough
