Hi everyone, I am so stuck for ideas hoping someone can come along and give some of their own! Me and my fiancé have been engaged for 3 years, 2 young children and we are both just wanting to be married now.

Haven’t got loads of money, and neither of us are really into having all the attention on us (I know that’s hard to avoid at a wedding 😂). Equally we don’t really do much for ourselves so would be nice to make the day special without going over the top. I have quite a big family and we want our families to be there.

has anybody had a smallish / non conventional wedding themselves ? How did the actual parts of the day go? (If that makes any sense) what did you do?

I’ve really gone off drinking myself and as I’m getting older can’t stand being around drunk people, so kind of put off doing the standard wedding reception that tends to revolve around everyone getting drunk 🫣

would really appreciate anyones ideas :) thanks!

Congratulations @Anonymoususe !
Years ago, my husband and I had a very traditional wedding with a smallish reception as my father had been made redundant and my husband had literally just graduated from university. I'd only been working for a year so we had minimal funds. We still had a wonderful day and no one got drunk!
Have you thought of a games themed wedding? If you have a fine day and access to a garden, you could play Petanque, badminton, hooplah, outside Jenga etc with silly prizes for the victors. And what about a bouncy castle for the children?
