Request for a wedding witness please!

Hi there

We're looking to get married just us and 2 witnesses (got house and kids together and just doing a quick wedding after having thought a bit about worse case scenario/finances etc now that we're not getting any younger!). We don't want a fuss/family politics that go with picking two people we know, so just wondered if anyone fancied being a witness to a wedding in Sheffield one Friday morning in September?

Seen another MN thread that made me thought this was worth a try!

I know this sounds daft, but you'll probably get more responses if you start a thread under Chat or AIBU, with the mention at least of Yorkshire, if not Sheffield, in the title!

Agree OP - put this in AIBU or Chat, and Sheffield in the title, you'll reach far more.

I'm not in Sheffield but could get in on the train. You could put me down as a last resort.

Hi OP. I can't help but we are doing the same and decided to ask 2 retired neighbours (acquaintances not friends)! Is that something you could do?

I thought about asking on mumsnet as have loved reading the threads where this has happened but I panicked that it could end up being someone I knew
