Wedding dress or not

I'm am completely lost as to what to do. We had planned a large wedding then covid hit so we are now just having our kids and parents in a local town hall then to a nice restaurant for a meal no big party or anything. I have my wedding dress and not sure if it would be stupid to wear for town hall then just for a meal would people be looking thinking I'm nuts or do I just go and get a nice dress

Unless the skirt of the dress is too massive to navigate the hall and restaurant, absolutely wear it. You'll never get another chance. I used to work in a registry office and loved it when people wore the full wedding regalia. (Loved all the weddings actually.) If the skirt is too massive, find an excellent tailor/seamstress, get some layers removed and then still wear it.

What would you like to do? What would make your wedding day perfect?

Wear your wedding dress!

I think you should wear whatever you want as long as it makes you happy. If it’s impractical in some way for the new planned day, as pp suggested, why not take it to a dressmaker to alter it?

Do you have a pic of the dress? Might make it easier for people to comment.

Of course wear it, even if it’s got a long train. I wouldn’t think you’re nuts I would excitedly watch how beautiful you looked and would be happy for you.
I think it brings out your best feelings when you see someone in a wedding dress surrounded by family. It shows that love and happiness are parts of our everyday life.

Wear it!

I've been to a registry wedding with a bride in white dress and bridesmaid in full satin dress etc. followed by a meal at the Chinese and then karaoke at the local pub. It was a fabulous evening and everyone was so responsive to it being a wedding because of the dresses

Wear the dress!

I wore a long white puffy dress to my registry office wedding but skipped the veil and train, just had my hair in an wispy up-do with pretty sparkly hair clips. I LOVED wearing it. We walked afterwards to a pub for the reception (50 people) and I didn't feel an idiot, I felt special.
