When would you expect to hear from your venue?

Wedding is in 25 days. I haven't heard from the Venue since Feb when we confirmed the menu, some decor details and the timing of the ceremony on the day. So currently they don't know final numbers, they don't know how many bottles of wine, prosecco and tequila we want, we don't know what the final costs are (we have asked for costings several times and been promised an email that has never materialised - I have worked them out myself so we knew what to save), they don't know when our cake, stylist or florist is arriving.

The wedding coordinator said in Feb she will 'have us in a couple of times before the big day'. We have heard nothing. Is this normal? What is your experience of venue communication? I had to go nuclear to get a meeting in Feb to confirm the food. Just wondering if I should be going nuv=clear again or keeping my powder dry? TIA.

We met our co-ordinator (for the 2nd time) and when asked when he needed menu options etc he waved his hand and said “Oh, a week before is fine”. He has 30 years experience so I trust him… but I’ve still set myself a deadline to have it all locked down my end a month before 😬

Hope you feel much better after your meeting ☀️ I’d write a list of questions and write down their answers. This is project management and meetings need minuting 👍🏼

It really depends on the venue, but generally, you should hear from them within a week or two after your initial inquiry. When I was planning my event, I remember feeling anxious about the timing.

I reached out to a few places, and Royal Crystal Event was fantastic about getting back to me quickly. They were super responsive, and their event venue was gorgeous! They even offered a personalized tour to show me the space and how they could help with everything.

It was a huge relief knowing everything was moving forward smoothly.
