What to put on a table

Hi all getting married this Saturday

In the middle of the bar area at the venue, they have a beautiful old table that stays. They have suggested we dress it up as it can look quite sad.
Any ideas what could I put on it?

Maybe some pictures of us?
Candles?
Jars of sweets? ( but scared people would loose their appetites) 😂

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Tia xxxx

Flowers? Wedding cake?

Do you have somewhere to put the presents/cards? Could you just put some flowers or electric tea lights on there and use it as a present table?

Is it visible from all directions? Ie what ever you put on there needs to look good from all sides? How big is it?

We have a random side table that we are putting old family wedding photos on, our parents, grandparents and siblings. Our venue is old with a number of portraits, so it makes sense

A vase with lights inside and a garland around the bottom?

A guest book?

Pictures of parents/grandparents weddings

I think the parents/ grandparents wedding photos (or indeed any of your family and friends, it could be lovely to invite people to bring a photo as you celebrate love) is really nice. At my nieces wedding she had a little area with grandparents photos and it was a really good conversation piece

Memorial collage with candles

card basket

envelopes labelled for various anniversaries with little notecards so people can write messages for you for to open on those dates

disposable cameras or instax camera and props (cheap way of doing a Photo Booth)

cake

flowers - can put your bouquets on there in vases after the ceremony

Buy a huge flowering plant and take it home?

Ask each guest to bring a flower to make a flower table.

We did this, it was absolutely lovely.

We are having one table with a lantern and photos of those who cannot be with us. We have a relative who will most likely not be with us by our wedding so decided we will create a space for them and anyone else that cannot be with us.
