Why would you need to reschedule a September wedding for a communion in May? Am I missing something?

hryllilegur · 27/02/2023 10:33

I’m also confused.

What does the first communion have to do with the price of cheese?

DogInATent · 27/02/2023 10:33

Has something been lost in the original translation from Klingon?

JenniferBarkley · 27/02/2023 10:34

I guess maybe a financial concern? Guessing OP is Irish from her name and in some areas communion celebrations can be very big. If that's it OP, scale the communion right back to a party at home, she'll have a great time.

Well the dates don't clash so can't see this being a concern unless you've missed out a bit part of the OP?

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 28/02/2023 13:37

Was it a typo? Maybe it was supposed to be "7yo dd is having first communion this day?

DogInATent · 28/02/2023 13:58

I'm guessing your community may make a big deal of first communions and weddings, and you're wondering if, with the current cost of living situation, having two big gifting events in the same years is a bit much for friends and family and might come across as CFery.

I don't think a marriage should be postponed because of a first Communion!

I am also confused at this non-clash.

Are you coming back @aoibhacado ?
