A late registry office wedding followed by a pub meal?

I want a small (30 people) wedding that flows with no downtime and with everyone fed and watered.

What kind of pub did you go for? Did you have a private area / decorated ?

What time did you stay at the pub until - does it make it easier for people to stay as little or as long as they like after the meal?

This removes need for DJ etc - did you mind no music / no first dance.

Went to a registry office wedding followed by a meal in a restaurant. Some people went home after the meal/cake, some carried it in at a local pub.

We did registry office (but afternoon) followed by a private area in a pub for drinks and snacks with a finish of around 6, me and DH then went for a dinner just the two of us.
re music I just created a play list on my phone and had them playing through a large speaker - no first dance
No regrets we loved our day

We got fed up of covid cancelling our wedding plans, so first day it was allowed, 10 of us went to registry office, max we were allowed. We had ordered good from Waitrose and had afternoon tea in my parents garden. Glad to be married, but wasn't the wedding planned.

Looking at options like this at the moment.
Will a pub be able to feed 30 people at the same time?

I attended a wedding just like this (2nd time round for both of them). Very relaxed at the registry office and then on to a nice country pub that had cordoned off an area for us and we had a 3 course meal there.

Afterwards everyone just stayed to chat for a bit and then we all left. There was no music or DJ, but it was a nice do and we enjoyed the day.

If you ring the pubs they'll let you know whether they can cater for your numbers and or cordon off an area for you.

A friend got their favourite restaurant to open up just for them at 4, instead of their usual 7pm. Their ceremony was booked for 2pm.
By the time the restaurant would usually be opening, they'd had the meal and were ready to go across to the back area of the pub across the road that had good music playing anyway. They paid for fingerfood around 10 pm and hands down the most chilled wedding I've ever attended.
