As i have been seeing lots of thread about terrible gifts, i don't want to give a bad one.

My friend is having her 50th birthday party next month as in big party. Hired hall etc.

Please can i have idea of what i can give as a gift.

This gets suggested quite a lot, and it comes down to the fact that "friends turning 50" are not one person.
They are as individual as every other person of every other age.

These threads usually start with people suggestion X, Y, and Z and then people coming in saying "but I really wouldn't want X, Y, or Z".

If you are invited to the party, if this lady is your friend, then surely you know her better than any of us.

I would like a spa day, vouchers to do something nice or consumables like gin or champagne, or maybe something arty.

One of my best 50th birthday gifts was an enormous and very beautiful hand crocheted blanket that now lives on my sofa, ready to be hauled over me on cold nights. Another was a book hamper. Depends on what the recipient likes, though.
