Costs for bridal hair and make-up

Completely clueless bride to be here! (never thought I'd get married, so have remained blissfully unaware of everything wedding-related!).

I need to find someone locally to do my hair and make-up (and potentially my maid of honour and bridesmaid also) for my August wedding next year. I have absolutely no idea what an average / reasonable cost for each would be per person. Is anyone able to advise please?

For context I'm in the South-East, but not London. Thanks.

If you’re wanting someone to travel to you then you might have trouble if it’s just yourself/2 other people. Most have a minimum number of 6 people or charge for that amount regardless.
that’s what I found when searching for hair and makeup

You can use the blow app - haven't used for bridal but I've used for hair and make up before. Very reliable. You can even do a practice run with the same person

I'm paying £110 for my hair and makeup

MOH and bridesmaids are paying £40 for hair and £40 for makeup (not all of them are having both done because I've left it up to them)

I paid £35 pp and £45 for my make up and about the same for hair (it was a family friend so it was less).

Think its working out at 100 or just over each for myself and bridesmaid for hair and make up which is more or less paid already as stylist and make up artist wanted 100 each for deposit. Still have to do trials though.
We will be going to the salon as 1. They wanted 160 each for call out fee (we are only a 10min drive away) and 2. I dont want all the nosey fuckers dropping by when im trying to get sorted.

Thanks all. Had quite a few quotes and it seems I live in a ridiculously expensive hotspot for bridal hair and make up! Best quote so far for me (with a trial) and my MoH and bridesmaid without trials is coming in at just under £500 😮.

Zero. Did it myself.

Mine was about £180. She didn't charge a lot for my hair as it was a bob. I had other two adult bridesmaids hair and make up. My make up and DD's (8) hair.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 23/01/2023 15:33

Think it was £45 for my make up and &35 each for theirs

hulahoopqueen · 23/01/2023 15:35

£245 for bride and 4 bridesmaids, plus bridal trial. One hairdresser, and one updo (mine) with bridesmaids in more casual down-styles.

Brideintheheadlights · 24/01/2023 10:14

Have now found someone who looks good for just over £350. Phew.

£350 isn't bad for professional hair and make up and you'll feel so much better than if you do it yourself.

Mine was £400 including a trial for me, and also my mum on the day (no trial for her).

She also came to the venue to do a touch up for me for the evening and change my hair.
