Different honeymoon ideas

Looking for inspiration for honeymoon ideas rather than the typical hot holiday beach honeymoon type.
Has anyone booked something different? We have seen the west midland safari lodges which look nice but after any other ideas like activity places or unique things to do

We’re going whale watching off the north of Norway. Staying in a spa so we can jacuzzi in the snow, hopefully We can go husky sledding too.

Backtothenineties · 29/10/2022 20:45

That sounds amazing!
Are the activities part of the hotel package?

A friend rented a totally remote lighthouse in Wales, and hunkered down there with amazing food and presumably a lot of sex for a week.

Trekking in Nepal ?

Honestly I'd have an inexpensive close to home relaxing week away to rest post wedding stress. Then an amazing holiday 6-12 months later as something to look forward to as you come down from the excitement high of getting married/the wedding.

We went skiing, it was amazing!

We went to California and had multiple types of holiday by travelling LA, Palm Springs, Las Vegas, Yosemite, Napa Valley and San Francisco.

It had everything from pool side relaxation to walking to wine tasting 😌

Yes. If you PM me I could send you details, if you’d like.

My parents cycled through Scotland.
(As it was their honeymoon they treated themselves and stayed in B&B's!)

This.

I'm definitely a quiet cottage in the Cotswolds / Peak District or a lovely town like Chester , Bath , York or somewhere to just chill after the wedding kind of a person, and then - f you have a lot of money to spend on an amazing holiday, save it for the following year. The wedding itself should be enough memory creating for one year I would have thought.

That sounds perfect to me. I might keep that suggestion in mind in case I ever get married again Halloween Grin

The Alps? Stunning outside of the ski season with lots to do.

AnnaMagnani · 30/10/2022 08:05

Do a holiday that you like!

We went round Emilia-Romagna in Italy, going to Bologna, Mantua, Ravenna, Verona etc.

A beach would not have suited us at all.

LBF2020 · 30/10/2022 08:13

We went to the Maldives. However, I would have loved to go on a ranch holiday.
Either a riding safari in South Africa or a ranch holiday in America with barn dances and BBQ etc. I looked into it but my husband is allergic to horses so it wouldn't have been much fun for him 🤣

NanaBobo · 30/10/2022 08:26

We stayed in the rainforest in South America. Loads of wildlife, jungle trekking, waterfall swimming, etc.

BarrelOfOtters · 30/10/2022 08:32

Friends went to the ice hotel and based a holiday round a nigh5 there and seeing the northern lights.

A lot will depend on budget, how much time you have etc. You could do part of the silk route... Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva (Uzbekistan) if interested in culture/history, a cruise... Scandinavia maybe... an educational one maybe, a themed break... wine tasting/culinary/art etc.
Closer to home...Port Lympne in Kent has safari breaks and then go off and explore Kent (unless you already here lol).

This is what we are hoping to do, with a few states to go too.

Train down the leg of Italy.
Stopping off at various places, eating fabulous food.
Then the ferry to Malta and fly back from there.

Mommabear20 · 04/11/2022 17:49

Disneyland Paris 🥰

Some of these suggestions are amazing.
