Buttonhole options for 2 yo?

My son is a page boy for my best friend's wedding and today she mentioned that his button hole will be attached via a magnet so he doesn't have to need a pin.

I've looked into how they're usually done with magnets online and whilst I appreciate he's been considered in terms of not having a pin which could be dangerous for him, I still feel a bit uncomfortable with this as my son has a tendency to put literally everything in his mouth.

Has anyone else used or tried any other way of keeping a buttonhole attached without the use of pins or magnets for small children?

The only thing I can think of is if I sit and stitch the button hole flower to his blazer jacket, which is fine with me to do that, but depends on how I'm doing for time that morning - I'm a bridesmaid so will be getting ready with my friend and helping to sort the venue, etc that morning. Just wondering if there's an easier way.

Any suggestions welcome! Thank you 😊

I’d share your worry about a magnet!

I’d go with sewing probably, it will only take 5 mins.

Could it be done with a safety pin?

I read this as "butthole operations"

I am going to bed now.

Sorry, no help at all Blush

Safety pin will just take 1 minute and he shouldn't be able to take it off.

Good idea not to use the magnet!
