There’s something about the bodice neckline and the overly puffed sleeves that jar IMO but I don’t hate it

Dinoswearunderpants · 25/08/2022 16:29

My wedding dress was £500 and much better quality than that. Go to some bridal stores and take a look. A lot of dresses you can buy off the rack and get it altered for your size.

I have nothing against buying a dress from ASOS, but personally that dress isn't nice (IMO).

RubiesandRose · 25/08/2022 16:30

I'm getting married in this ASOS wedding dress in a few weeks time

www.asos.com/prd/22238978?acquisitionsource=pasteboard

it also has big sleeves and I love it!

I had to pay to have it taken up and the dressmaker asked which designer it was from (I had cut the label out) and couldn't believe it when I said it was from ASOS, So I say go for it!!

@RubiesandRose that sounds good! Did you need a lot taken up?

I like it OP, take no notice of the snobs on here.?

How am I a snob?

I've literally said that I wore a second hand high street dress. OP asked for an opinion and I gave it - the dress looks cheap to me - I'm not saying £395 is cheap - the dress looks like a dressing up dress - it doesn't help that it doesn't fit the model at all.

My Phase Eight wedding dress didn't look like a mother of the bride outfit either 🙄

BritInAus · 26/08/2022 01:18

Definitely order it and try it on - what do you have to lose? I've just ordered a very cheap high street dress for my wedding dress, and love it.

RubiesandRose · 26/08/2022 08:07

@Thecarpetisbeige I had about 6 inches chopped off! I'm only just over five foot three, not a five foot ten model and it was full length on me! Luckily the style wasn't compromised by shortening it and it cost £60.

The dress was full price when I bought but I used a 20% discount code, so total price including alterations was £216.

Cas112 · 26/08/2022 08:08

It looks cheap and flimsy material

@RubiesandRose ah that's great, thank-you 😊

I think it looks really poorly fitted, and think that if they can’t get the fit right on a model to advertise it, what’s it going to be like in real life

ColadhSamh · 26/08/2022 08:48

Have you looked at Chi Chi? Great selection and good prices

HorsingAround2022 · 26/08/2022 09:21

I was surprised by the price point of the dress as it looked much cheaper but ASOS have very easy free returns so it’s worth trying if you like it.

Rainbowshit · 26/08/2022 09:25

It's a bit busy for my liking. Doesn't fit at all well. Think there are nicer dresses out there.

ganvough · 26/08/2022 09:31

Because the polyester sleeves are transparent, any little bit of sweat will show up as dark patches in photos.

The style is cool but the sleeves have too much mesh and not structured enough/sturdy material so could fall flat around your arms rather than stay balooned.

There will definitely be nicer dresses on the high street!

UniquelyBoring · 26/08/2022 09:33

I'm all for getting cheap. But there's something about this that looks really bad quality, I think you could only tell when seeing in person. I think the shape and style is nice though, I can totally see why you'd like it.

hewouldwouldnthe · 26/08/2022 09:52

Looks ill fitting, fussy and uncomfortably itchy to me. Also very Puritan in its coverage

@ColadhSamh yeah, they had no plus size full length dresses with long sleeves 😔
