To hire a venue stylist or do it yourself?

Getting married April 2024 and trying to make decisions regarding the budget. Venue is sorted, photographer is chosen so now I'm moving on to the venue styling.

Would people reccomend we hire a venue stylist or do it ourselves? Is the cost different much for the amount of extra hassle it would be to style our own venue?

Won't this depend on the venue ?

"What it looks like inside the venue" is already going to be 'styled' if you are paying for a 'stylish' venue (stately home, hotel, or specialist wedding venue) - I mean, that is what they look like.

If you are hiring the local Scout hut / Village Hall / Community venue, you might want to 'do' a bit more decorating of the the room.
Personally a 'stylist' isn't something I would spend money on, but I guess how important it is to you might be different for some people than others, and it depends on your time and creativity and it depends on who you would have to help you and how much time you all have.

I agree it totally depends on your venue. My wedding was in a fancy hotel, a wedding coordinator was part of our package; they provided chair covers, table cloths etc and set it all up. Our florist then set up the flowers and centre pieces. I would hate to have had to think of dressing the hall, there are a million other things you’ll be thinking/ stressing about.

It's a 'posh' venue, so it's absolutely beautiful already. I'd say it just needs things like flowers, chair covers, centre pieces etc so now I think about it there's not too much to be done. I can't remember what the venue said they'd actually do so I'll have to give them a message 😅

Don’t waste money on a stylist.
Your venue staff, florist, chair cover company etc are all professionals. They know exactly what to do.

Good point! That'll save us £500ish then 😁
