Online bridesmaid dress recommendations

hazeydays14 · 31/07/2022 20:17

Just after some recommendations for buying bridesmaid dresses online.

I’ve seen a few but I’m a bit concerned about them stating they are UK based but actually being from China (sizing issues, return difficulties)

I’ve got 4 bridesmaids between UK 8 and UK 20 so I want them to be accurate sizes. They live all over the UK so it would be helpful if I can order the dresses to them so they can try on and return easily if necessary.

Budget isn’t huge, I’m going to pay for them all so I’m looking to spend under £100 each, more comfortable around the £60-£70 mark but that might be a bit ambitious!

I am getting married in autumn so I’m looking for dark red/burgundy which seems to be quite an awkward colour..

Thanks!

Coast! Really easy returns and seemingly endless sales, if you search online for a promo code too you can always get an extra discount. And the quality is far better than the Chinese sites.

SaltandPepper22 · 01/08/2022 11:44

Coast is quite expensive!

My wedding is a while away but one of my bridesmaids will be in Australia so will also be looking online.

Honestly somewhere like JJs house is probably the way to go on that budget (mine will be similar) and they do all their dresses in about 20 colours.

With that range of sizes for your bridesmaids you probably want something quite classics to suit everyone.

What about this?

So they're not online, but the most budget-friendly but decent quality bridesmaid dresses seem to be Wed2B, and they have burgundy. I think they're £90 a dress. They have stores all over the country so your bridesmaids could pop in to try for sizing, plus you can mix and match styles for different body shapes and know it'll be the same shade. Buying online at that budget is always going to be a gamble.

hazeydays14 · 01/08/2022 13:10

Thanks for your suggestions

My only concern about sites like JJs house is that they seem to have bad reviews when it comes to returns which isn’t ideal if the sizing is going to be off as they are shipping from China I believe..

I like the ones in Wed2b and they are on my radar though I didn’t have a brilliant experience with them recently as the bride so I am looking at other options.

I will probably try and budget a little more for the dresses and order from a UK based company for ease of return of the dresses aren’t quite right 😅

Thank you all though

I've seen lots of good stuff about th&th lately
www.thandth.com/

TeamSpike · 01/08/2022 13:25

My sister used everpretty for most of our dresses. True to size and around the £50 mark

Doidontimmm · 01/08/2022 13:33

I bought from J&J, had to send first dress back, sizes are very small made, bit of a palava sending back, they try give you discounts etc but I stayed firm. I don’t recall how much but I didn’t get all my money back, think I had to pay the postage or such. I did order the size up as my daughter really liked the dress. She is normally a 12 and ended up with an 18!!

HouseHelp23 · 01/08/2022 13:37

@Knitily I love TH&TH and I've ordered their dresses, but even their cheapest dress is overbudget for OP

When is the wedding? Autumn 2022 or 2023? If you wait a while until the winter dresses start coming through you might be able to order from Next or Chi Chi London etc

Itsincidental · 01/08/2022 13:44

I went to a winter wedding last winter and bridesmaid dresses were from Silk Fred. They have a few in burgundy. For example

PieonaBarm · 01/08/2022 13:46

Try Dorothy Perkins on line, they do bridesmaid dresses, just search for maxi dresses. A girl I work with has got theirs from ASOS and the quality is spot on, £80 I think

greengrass22 · 01/08/2022 13:55

asos, dorothy perkins

QueenOfWeeds · 01/08/2022 13:59

We got ours from Next in the end - they have some red ones in stock at the moment. Not loads in your budget, but the Lipsy ones are all under £100. If you pay (I think) £20 you get free delivery for a year.

usernotfound0000 · 01/08/2022 14:01

Next have a good range. I was recently a BM and my dress was about £60. It was Dorothy Perkins but bought from Next online.

minipie · 01/08/2022 14:03

Chi Chi clothing is also worth a look

pigalow27 · 01/08/2022 14:04

Goddiva? Asos?

hazeydays14 · 01/08/2022 14:06

Thanks again all

Wedding is 2023 so I’ve got plenty of time! I’ve looked at TH&TH and they are beautiful but yes I think they are too much for me unfortunately!

The silk Fred one is almost exactly what I’ve been imagining! I wouldn’t have the sleeves that way but I think they are adjustable. The reviews look brilliant as well, thank you! I’ve never heard of them.

If they don’t work out I think I’ll hold off until Christmas sales and hope for the right range of sizes 😅

My cousin used Amazon and they were under £50 and stunning - dressmaker they used for alterations was really impressed

East returns too when she needed to switch a size

TheLadyGrayson · 01/08/2022 16:55

I wouldn’t worry, in a couple of months all the autumn winter lines will be coming in and I’m sure you’ll have more choice. I had navy bridesmaid dresses and when I started looking for them in March, lots of places didn’t have stock in the darker colours as spring/summer approached.

Sugarcube84 · 11/08/2022 19:50

Everpretty a couple of my friends have recently had their from there

www.ever-pretty.co.uk/collections/burgundy-bridesmaid-dresses?filter.v.option.color=Burgundy

EzioAuditore · 11/08/2022 19:55

I used Victoria Lou who do multi-way dresses. We got them in a dark red and I think they were 85-90 each. It's one size fits all, but you have to get them trimmed as they're all made one length

sugarcone · 11/08/2022 21:21

I bought the dresses for my bridesmaids in the Phase 8 sale and they were £99 each and had lots of sizes

Sugarcube84 · 22/08/2022 20:23

Th &th currently has a sale on….

Easterdaffsx · 22/08/2022 23:36

I know the reviews aren't great my my dd was recently let down when her bridesmaid dresses retailer went bankrupt and there no time to order anything but online like 4 weeks before the wedding .
She ordered with much trepidation from JJ's house .
The dresses were fabulous .
Perfect quality and we had taken uo locally . Bridesmaids were really pleased too .

N1KNak · 17/11/2022 12:27

TH&TH have a sale on right now, my sister in law got her bridesmaid dresses from there and they are so cheap!

Rachel123z · 17/11/2022 12:29

I wore these dresses for my best friends wedding and she got them in the Black Friday sale so more affordable as there was 8 of us!
