music for ceremony - what works, what doesn't?

I'm having a small ceremony. We have the option of playing music in the registry office. I'm trying to decide what. I quite like the idea of something a bit different like maybe from a film soundtrack but obviously don't want it to be silly. It's just hard to imagine it on the day. Any advice or tips? What did you have?

I had Handel’s Sarabande, and still love it. Go for whatever you want, a film soundtrack sounds great!

If you do pick something from a film, go for a film you both love that means something to you.

We had "All You Need is Love", which is a good job as we've got bugger all money Grin

I went to a wedding recently where they played Maxence Cyrin's piano cover of where is my mind for the brides entrance. Not a typical wedding song but with just the music and no lyrics it was beautiful. Another was Sweet Disposition played by a string quartet.

What sort of music or films do you like?

Do you not have a favourite song or TV show that you both love/ means something to you? An instrumental version of your first dance song for example?

We had these, per the attached photos.

We looked long and hard for which music to play. Not a single person mentioned it afterwards and I didn't even notice it! It's only looking back at videos that I can actually prove they played it!

I've got songbird by Fleetwood Mac to walk down the aisle too (small one in a registry office ) and here comes the sun by the Beatles for when people are sitting down

We got married in a castle so had quite a long walk down isle. We had Montecues and Capulets Dance of the Nights from Romeo and Juliet when DH walked down the isle with his best man. Then Cannon Pascelbel when I walked down isle with bridesmaids. Then Daniel Beddingfield If You're Not the One, when signing the register. Handel's Royal Fireworks overture to walk back down isle together after marriage ceremony. This also continued whilst we had a few photos taken of just Bride and Groom and guests had drinks taken to them. Loved our wedding music. We burned it onto a CD and still have it.
