Dress code confusion

Helllo!

I have a wedding to attend in August and the dress code just states formal.

I'd normally go for a midi dress with some floral patterns on it but I'm now not sure that this fits with the formal dress code. It's a day wedding at a Manor house. I'm 26 and a size 10. If Anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great 👍

A floral midi dress with heels will be perfect.

Remember people will interpret it differently. You'll still get some people wearing floral dresses with flats and probs some people with a dress, blazer and hat.

How about...

I have a wedding coming up with a formal dress code. I think it's pretty open, they just don't want people turning up in jeans and/or trainers etc.

I very much doubt they're expecting ballgowns or cocktail dresses!

It means suits rather than jeans or morning dress for men. A floral midi dress dressed up rather than down (smart shoes and jacket, rather than trainers and cardy), will be fine.

Formal for a daytime event typically means good dress with headgear.

So I think what you're planning sounds fine - especially if you can find a little jacket that sits right with it.
