Hi all you lucky brides

if anyone has got married recently, how many certificates did you buy and how long did they take to be posted to you?

im getting married later this year and going on honeymoon for 2 weeks straight after the wedding. Will I have to order the certificates online while im on holiday? I’m changing my name so ordering a few …. Could I have them for when I come back from holiday or do they take longer?

At the time of booking our registrar, I paid to have two extra copies. We took one away on the day and the others turned up a few weeks later, I think.

Did you get married recently? The registry office said they’ve changed the way they do them so you don’t walk away with a copy ok the day. It’s processed and sent out later on. You don’t sign the register on the day anymore either

I got married a few months ago - we took away a copy of the thing we had signed but were also told it wasn’t the marriage certificate. We ordered a few copies and it took several weeks.

Some things just require a copy, not an original, so I took 5 copies of one as soon as they arrived.
