Who pays for the hen party?

Just that really! I am planning my sister's hen party for next year. I believe the hen doesn't pay for herself?

Does everyone pay for themselves?
And if so- are the bridesmaid la expected to contribute more?

The reason I ask... we are wanting to go abroad and it may likely work out quite expensive.

I suppose whenever can't afford it/ doesn't want to go abroad doesn't have to and we aren't forcing everyone. I understand it can be so expensive.

Splitting the cost of a meal and few drinks is fine, but definitely not a holiday abroad. If the bride wants a hen do abroad then she should pay for herself.

This winds me up the past 2 weddings we've been involved with there was an expectation the brides paid nothing and in both cases they had substantially more money than everyone else and both were abroad so I declined

I wouldn't expect people to subsidise me i think it's very greedy

This sounds like a nightmare.

Bride should pay for herself.

A nightmare how?

A nightmare how?

The cost. The time away. The organisation. The complete over the topness of it. The entitlement of the kind of bride/stag thar wants this.
