Wedding playlist

So we’re getting married and one of the things I’ve noticed and are worried about is whether people will sing! We’re having a church wedding and about half our guests we know from church/CU so will know the songs but a fair few including a lot of my family won’t. We’ve gone for hymns/worship that are personal to us but non church goers might not know them. Would it be rude or weird to put on the invites a link to the playlist or even just share it on fb and email it out to a few. Not in the “we expect you to be word perfect and harmonise” sense but in the “have a listen if you fancy so you’re familiar with them”. What would you think if you got sent this?

Agree- weird and very odd thing to do!!! Would you do the same before a christening or funeral too so everyone can sing???

I would think that if guests can read, then they can read the words or the hymns. IF they choose to sing out loud is there choice. I am flat as a pancake in terms of singing, so will always mouth the words or be extremely quiet. I know I can't sing and wouldnt want to impart that on others. I'm unsure why you feel the need to make those that don't feel comfortable singing- do so??? Confused

Personally if I got that on an invite I wouldn't listen to it in advance. I'd think it was a bit strange - like I was being set 'homework' for a wedding.

I think really you just have to adjust your expectations and accept that not everyone will sing.
