It's under a year away now so starting to get excited 😆. So far we have sorted out:

Venue
Registrar
Photography
Wedding Dress
Rings
Bridesmaids
Groomsmen
Hen Party
Shoes-me
Handbag
Hairdresser
Hotel room
Table decorations
Tableware
Flowers
Band
Bar
Save the dates
Invitations
Guest list
Transport

The food is in hand-but struggling to make a decision so will probably end up doing it ourselves
DPs shoes and suits are sorted in principle

What do I need to get organised now?

Wedding favours for guests
Breakfast delivery for morning whilst getting ready - no cooking smells
Regular hair apts to get your hair in optimum condition... that was a must for me. My friend is a owner of a top city salon and he insisted on 4 weekly visits and when it was it the best condition it ever was, he insisted on weekly visits to try out various styles.. usually in the morning so we could see how the style held in my hair. I was lucky.. it was his wedding gift to me

@Dementedswan that sounds amazing, but I would need a better job for that! I have been treating my hair and it's looking a lot healthier lately, just trying to grow it and keep it in decent condition.

Bloody hell! What a faff.

I don't think I'm going to bother with favours. The most likely thing is that they will be left behind or put in the bin, and there's nothing much depressing than spending £150 on something no-one really wants or needs. I was thinking of spending that on more food or drink.

What are everyone else's thoughts on favours?

Tbf we only had favours as old fashioned mil insisted on it.

The hair wasn't a faff, it was a wedding gift and he spent months treating it etc to get it in top condition. Nice to have a little luxury.

We are doing favours - we are having pencils with our names/dates on. But we are doing a table quiz so it ties in with that.

lurcherlove · 13/06/2022 13:53

Also lots of us are musicians and you can never have too many pencils!!

tootiredtobother · 13/06/2022 14:22

if doing the catering yourselves, then water on the tables, i forgot !!

Caspianberg · 22/06/2022 08:57

Im not doing favours either. I will do small bag each for the 6 children with some treats and entertainment bits in, and just getting basic card with name on for table seating plan
