Thoughts on this wedding band with my engagement ring...?

Hello!

Just as the title says really!
I've had a really hard time sourcing a wedding ring to go alongside my pear shaped engagement ring.
I have been looking at cross over styles as I hope the point of the pear will be able to sit just slightly over the cross over part, not covering too much of the wedding band (fingers crossed!!!)

I tried this ring on and really liked it. What do you think? ☺️

Oops, might help if I add the photos! Here's the wedding band and my engagement ring ☺️

From me; it's a no. They look like they wouldn't remotely be able to sit alongside one another.

RedMozzieYellowMozzie · 16/12/2021 20:06

I'm afraid I agree I don't think they go. Have you tried Etsy? I got mine off a seller called Belloring and if you measure your ring she will adjust the one you choose to fit round your ring if she can

Snow1n · 16/12/2021 20:06

Do they sit well together?

traveltheworld1986 · 16/12/2021 20:09

I would try a tiara shaped wedding band x

HanSB · 16/12/2021 20:18

They don’t look like they compliment each other. Have you been into a jewellers and ask what they suggest? I would have a 1mm spacer band between whatever rings you choose to protect each ring. I think a tiara style band or a low set microwave would look best. With the pear diamond, I think they are usually work pointing upwards to elongate the finger?

SockFluffInTheBath · 16/12/2021 20:21

I have a largish sapphire surrounded by diamonds and had part of the basket underneath removed so that it sits flush over a plain wedding ring, is that something you could do?

LightDrizzle · 16/12/2021 20:24

You need to try on in real life. I don't think they will sit well together and even if they did, there is too much going on as your engagement ring has a halo and a pave band.

I thought I wanted a pave or channel diamond wedding band with my plain diamond solitaire but when I tried rings on I fell in love with a plain band.

Thank you all! I have tried them on together and they fit perfectly. I'm just trying to dig out the photo now as I'm sure I took one!
I can completely understand what you are all saying regarding it maybe not working. I understand there is also lots going on.

If anybody has any examples of others that might work please do feel free to send a photo! I'm not very good at imagining 🙈

Also, the photo of the engagement ring was the night we got engaged, I don't wear it that way and always have the point facing upwards ❤️

It’s a no from me too, I don’t see how they would sit together. Personal choice I would want either a plain band or small diamond band so not to distract from the engagement ring.

HappyAsASandboy · 17/12/2021 07:19

I would turn your engagement ring over, and sit it on a wedding ring like this one

If they sit well together and you've tried them on and you love them, then ultimately that's all that matters and go for it!

onethingonly · 17/12/2021 21:20

I think we have the same ring! It's beautiful. I have looked at thin round wedding bands with the same detail as the shoulders of the engagement ring.

HermioneWeasley · 29/12/2021 15:23

Those little stones are forever falling out and cost £50 a go to replace, I’d go for a plain band.
