Is this wedding dress too fussy?

I fell in love with this gorgeous Eliza Jane Howell dress after stumbling on it in a bridal boutique website, even though it isn't the style I had in mind. It's a heavily discounted sample. The consultant showed it me on video and the photos don't do it justice. The underskirt is covered in sequins that create a subtle shimmer effect, and I love that the skirt is full without having a train. My one concern is the ruffles around the shoulders and collar. Are they too much? Am I going to look like I'm in a costume? I wear a lot of Victoriana/Edwardiana inspired clothes, so the style is quite 'me', but as I'd gone into the shop picturing myself in a plain ankle length gown with a simple juliet or bandeau veil it feels like a bit of a stretch! Honest opinions please!

Well, I celebrated too soon. Not having any mirrors (or even much furniture on which to prop up my phone!) I thought that the dress looked a bit odd on me because of the weird camera angle. I tried it on at my sister's today and saw that the waist is in completely the wrong place, which throws the rest out. It's clearly designed for people with shorter legs than me. It fits in that it zips and buttons up fine, but the material goes in and out in the wrong places and doesn't flatter me. I'll see what a seamstress can do. Xmas Confused

Ah now.

Hopefully someone can give it a wee bit of a tweak for you to make it perfect.

Well it looks gorgeous in the photo OP, so I'm sure a seamstress will bea able to tweak it for you.

Gorgeous on YOU in the photo I mean!

It's a beautiful dress, but the neck and shoulder ruffles don't appear to match the dress, can they not alter the dress to take them off?
My daughter had hers altered quite radically and the seamstress was an absolute magician.

It's lovely, I wouldn't go for the gloves though, personaly I think that's a bit much.
