Bridal Shoes

I'm trying to find shoes for my wedding day but I don't have any idea where to start. I think its a waste of money to buy ivory/white/specifically bridal shoes because I'll only wear them once. I'd rather a pair of nice sandals or something that I can wear again I think.

I'm definitely not a person that's into shoes. I live in Converse, Vans etc hubby to be is a foot taller than me so I need something with a decent heel and an ankle strap, anything else just slips off my feet.

Any ideas on where to look? What were/are your wedding shoes like?

I got a white pair of strappy shoe with a little heel from new look, think they were around £15.

I got rachel simpson coloured shoes that I knew I would wear again. Rainbow club do loads of styles and they also offer a service that will dye them.

CornishGem1975 · 15/11/2021 19:38

I've gone for Rainbow Club - they are so comfy. You can get them dyed for £10 afterwards, any colour you like.

PingedPotato · 15/11/2021 19:39

Rainbow club. So comfy and I got them dyed black after

AperolWhore · 15/11/2021 19:43

I said I do in Choo and I don’t regret it, they cost more than my dress and I wear them every year in summer but if you live in converse why not get married in them? You can get them glammed up with ribbon laces etc x

toastofthetown · 15/11/2021 19:46

I also had Rainbow Club ones. They were higher than I'd planned but so comfortable - and normally I struggle in heels. I bought them in a 75% off sale, so if you have time on your side might be worth seeing if they have something similar planned.

SexyNeckbeard · 15/11/2021 19:47

Mine were from Quiz, strappy sandals

LemonDrizzles · 15/11/2021 19:53

I bought mine from hotter. I knew my dress would cover my feet

Mumof2boys86 · 16/11/2021 09:23

Have a look on Rainbow club, but on the Archive page, this is their sale. Complete bargains!
:)

I've gone for Charlotte Mills. So comfortable and light and can't even feel them on my feet. They come in three heel heights as well as flats.

I've also bought a pair of wedding high tops from Converse for the beach photos. They come with ribbon laces, blue soles and you can customise colour. Mine say "just married" on the side although that can be changed and the wedding date sewn in to the heel stripe as well. They're really reasonably priced too.

ContadoraExplorer · 17/11/2021 07:57

I had Louboutins for our wedding which I have worn several times since but changed to converse for the reception. Like PP's have said, if you live in converse, I'd wear them for the wedding - better to be comfortable!

TheSandgroper · 17/11/2021 08:03

I had my dress made so had my shoes covered in the fabric. I haven’t been able to wear them again but they weren’t expensive and very comfortable.

Clarabellawilliamson · 17/11/2021 08:12

I had two pairs, a pair of gold heeled peep toes for the ceremony which were beautiful but agony and I've never worn them again. The second pair was a pair of gold glitter trainers with ribbon laces that I have worn at least once a year since the wedding in 2013. Don't be uncomfortable on your wedding day.

Hmmhowhardtochooseaname · 18/11/2021 15:37

I bought some lovely shoes cheaply from Oxfam online and I'll probably redonate them after the wedding.

CMOTDibbler · 18/11/2021 15:38

If he's that much taller than you, I'd just wear sequin converse tbh and be comfortable

Daisy4569 · 20/11/2021 19:19

I wore gold strappy heels from Russell & Bromley. Way more than I wanted to pay but I just wanted simple and something I’d like wear again (which is harder to find than you’d think!)

Ethelswith · 20/11/2021 19:53

I wore gold loafers

You can get gold converse, and glittery ones.

If that's what you're comfy in, don't rule them out

MrsFin · 20/11/2021 19:57

DNiece wore white trainers at her wedding last year.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 20/11/2021 20:08

I got mine from simply be. We're only about £50 and I got 20% off. I had to recycle them afterwards as one of the crystally things had come off but they weren't expensive anyway. I wore white sliders at night which I can wear in summer.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 20/11/2021 20:09

Bought mine off Amazon. Wore them down the aisle. For a few photos and that was it. Bare foot the rest of day. Dress was so long you couldn’t tell

delilahbucket · 20/11/2021 20:30

These were mime by Irregular Choice. They were like gloves for my feet, so comfy. I don't normally wear a heel but as it was chunky and not very high, I did ten hours in these, only sitting down for the meal.

I did Irregular choice Nick of time shoes for the day and pimped up converse for night :) enjoy your day :)

Greytminds · 20/11/2021 20:50

I had some beautiful vintage style shoes from Rachel Simpson shoes. The prices seem to have gone up but they do have sales, and an outlet.

ImInStealthMode · 23/11/2021 19:40

My venue isn't at all heel friendly (all outdoors / marquee with a soft matting floor) so I've got some low nude wedges from Office, a bargain at £16 in the sale.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/12/2021 21:44

One of my colleagues had really pretty custom converse. That matched with her daughters. They looked great.
