Separate outfit ?

I haven't been to a wedding for a long time. But now I've reached the age when I've been invited to a friend's child's wedding !

It's at a hotel and I've been invited for the day and evening. Is it the done thing to change for the evening or can I wear the same thing all day ?

Same outfit normally, just take off your jacket so it looks more evening -y
