What to do with wedding dress after wedding...

Wondering what people did with their wedding dresses after their wedding.

Mine is currently lying in the spare room, taking up space. likely too dirty at the bottom to be dry cleaned properly. Do I keep it (how best to store?) or try and sell? (Is anyone really going to want a dress that's dirty on the bottom...?)

I'm part of a volunteer group and we take donated wedding dresses to make Angel Gowns. We make clothes for babies born too soon to survive. They're too tiny for conventional baby clothes but we can make little dresses and pockets for their loved ones to bury them in. I started out by using my own wedding dress.

I had mine cleaned and it sat in the wardrobe for 5 years until I donated it to a charity which made funeral gowns and christening gowns for little babies lost at birth or very sadly soon after.

They would make little drawstring bags out of the same dress material for the parents to hold forever keepsakes in. It breaks your heart.

1st wedding. Stored mine for years, then wondered what exactly I was storing this enormous princess costume for, it was large, even in its packed away state, and it was shamefully expensive so I then sold it for a really decent amount.

2nd time round, chic little number, takes up no room at all, far cheaper, and will probably keep for no other reason than I wouldn't get anything for it if I sold it. Maybe I should donate it. I've still got the shoes too though, I'll keep them.

I donated mine to Bonnie Babies.

Every now and again I pop mine on and wander around the house. Usually 5 or so year intervals.
I have no idea. I was married in 2003

Mine sat under our bed for years with me wondering what to do with it. I then saw a charity which uses them to make gowns for stillborn babies so i donated it to them.

They made me a small heart cushion keepsake out of the fabric, which was kind and unexpected
