As a wedding guest dress? Struggling to find something I would be comfortable wearing. I've put on weight and don't like showing my legs (veins) What do you guys think about this one?

Is this suitable?

That's really pretty.

Daisy829 · 10/09/2021 17:36

Yes I think it’s lovely

Mummyofboys88 · 10/09/2021 17:41

Thanks for your replies. I'm 33 and 5 ft 9. Does it suit my age do you thinking? I'm rubbish at picking wedding outfits and the ones I really like all look like bridesmaids dresses.

Is it an evening wedding. It’s very long for a daytime wedding.

stripedbananas · 10/09/2021 17:50

It's fine no ones going to judge you for this dress at all

whatthejiggeries · 10/09/2021 17:55

Absolutely it's perfect and I don't think it's too long

luckymagnoliatree · 10/09/2021 18:06

I think it's lovely & wouldn't look out of place at all Smile

Mummyofboys88 · 10/09/2021 18:15

Day and evening dress. Thanks everyone Smile was just a bit worried about the black colour.

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 10/09/2021 18:20

I wouldn't wear so much black to a wedding personally.

MimiSunshine · 10/09/2021 18:54

It’s lovely. Is the wedding soonish? If so I’d say it’s perfect for an autumn/ winter wedding

Mummyofboys88 · 10/09/2021 18:59

The wedding is next month. Is this one better?

It looks a bit more dressy and festive, I think

stripedbananas · 10/09/2021 20:49

I much prefer the second one I have to say.

It feels more cheerful and less heavy

Mummyofboys88 · 10/09/2021 21:04

I think so too. Thanks for all your help.

One more thing...any idea what colour shoes would work best with the second dress? The dress is a mixture of navy, white and red.

OP posts:
Notaroadrunner · 10/09/2021 21:16

I'd go with red shoes/bag with 2nd dress. Both dresses are lovely.

Mummyofboys88 · 11/09/2021 09:56

Would red shoes be ok? 'Red shoes no knickers'? Grin

Warmduscher · 11/09/2021 10:01

I think the second one looks more like a summer holiday dress.

Next month will be much cooler if you’re in the UK and you may have to wear a jacket, which could look odd with jersey fabric.

SionnachRua · 11/09/2021 10:04

The second one reads summer holiday to me too. First is gorgeous.

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 11/09/2021 13:34

Is red shoes no knickers a thing?? I've never heard that!

notenoughcoffeeee · 11/09/2021 13:39

I like the style of the first one the best but would not wear black (even in a pattern mix) to a wedding tbh

spotcheck · 11/09/2021 13:42

People can wear black to a wedding! It isn't solid black with a black veil. Honestly- the first one is lovely!
