Elopement weddings / weddings for two ideas

We are after ideas for places in the UK where we can get married without any guests. We are totally flexible about location as we are thinking of just going away for a few days and having a secret wedding while we are away. We joked about a road trip to gretna green but Ive heard not great things about getting married there and that it is a bit like a conveyer belt and we want to have a nice day just the two of us (and some random witnesses). I quite like the idea of scotland, the lake district, yorkshire or cornwall.

Any ideas ladies?

How about this spa hotel in the lakes? They have a wedding package which sounds like it would be more than you need but if you called them and discussed what you would like then I can’t see why you couldn’t get married there, book an amazing room in the Winander Club and have a fantastic dinner in the restaurant.

I was in South Queensferry (Scotland) today. It’s near Edinburgh. It has a lovely registry office with a view of the sea and railway bridge. It’s also a sweet little town.

We did exactly that at Ta Mill in Cornwall. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
