Pretty much decided the colours for my bridesmaids. I want one in lemon yellow, pastel green, baby pink and baby blue. Can't seem to get a style to suit all 4. Could I get away with having 2 in one style (my maid of honours) and 2 in a different style (bridesmaids)! Just worried as they are different colours it will look bad

It depends on the actual dresses. You could if they were all similar material and two strapped and two strapless but quite similar looking, for example.

ahoyshipmates · 18/07/2021 18:46

What ages are they all?

jodesxx · 18/07/2021 19:22

@ahoyshipmates they are 25, 28, 30 and 39. Would be 25 and 28 in one style then 30 and 39 in the other

@girlmom21 it's just the neckline really. I'd do quite similar on bottoms. These are what I'm thinking...

My own personal preference is different dresses in the same colour or same dresses in different colours

jodesxx · 18/07/2021 19:26

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz that's what I was originally going to do but I can't seem to get one style that suits them all

@jodesxx that's a lovely dress!

Wjevtvha · 19/07/2021 06:30

You can do what you want; I always feel sorry for bridesmaids in the same style when it clearly doesn’t suit one of them as often it looks good on one and not the other so if different styles suit then go for it.

Doidontimmm · 19/07/2021 09:20

It won’t look very co ordinated, however if you don’t care about that then go for what you like!

Sorry op I think this too. I know the struggle of getting one to suit them all but it'll look uncoordinated if you have different dresses & colours.

Have you actually had them try any on yet? You might be surprised with how much they suit a certain style when you see it on.

I have 2 bridesmaids I never imagined would like anything the same and they both look fantastic in the one we've chosen.

AmperoBlue · 24/07/2021 19:55

When you say “suits them” how bad are the not so suited ones looking. Is it more the contrast between a nearly 40 year old and a 25 year old?

I don’t understand your photos actually Are you going for the hem showing a lot of leg because I can see that might not be flattering on anyone with chunky legs.
Also it’s showing boobs and leg which is considered a bit much, especially for a formal occasion and also is less forgiving looks wise. I think the more ckassuc the dress the more likely it will suit them all.

Jerseygirl12 · 24/07/2021 20:01

Both dresses look similar to me.

NoHeavenNoMore · 24/07/2021 20:06

Why don't you get them multi way dresses? Suit everyone cos they can all wear them different ways...

Just watching Sex and the City . Carries 3 bridesmaids wore totally different dresses.
Fabulous. Style it out.

CalypsoLizard · 04/08/2021 23:59

Try Maids of Honour for different colour and style but still coordinating dresses

StCharlotte · 24/08/2021 22:04

Can you have them in the same colour?

The two dresses (both lovely) aren't different enough to make a difference. They're both v-neck. If the blue style suits a bridesmaid, so will the pink style and vice versa. I think pick one style and have the different colours.

Scarby9 · 24/08/2021 22:11

I was at a wedding where the bridesmaids wore dresses like the ones @NoHeavenNoMore linked.
The bridesmaids were different heights and body shapes. Each chose how to wear their dress -apparently they had an evening together trying all the different styles following a youtube video.
They all looked good, and the mix of similar and different worked well.
The dresses were also apparently only £60 each - not bad.
