Hi all
I’ve read that the way marriages are registered has changed and we will no longer sign a register on the day or receive a marriage certificate on the day. So I have a few questions if anyone can help
- If we don’t sign anything on the day and it’s all just verbal at what point is the marriage legally binding. I don’t think husband to be will do a runner
but if it’s all just verbal it seems a bit wishy washy and where’s the proof it actually happened??
- When do we pay and receive a marriage certificate. Once we return from honeymoon I was really hoping to crack on getting my name changed and all the important places need a marriage certificate.
Thanks
