June 2021 Wedding - outdoor dance

I’m getting married on June 27th.

We want to have our first dance and in addition a choreographed dance piece with about 6 close friends outdoors. It’ll be about 5 mins long.

Under the new rules, outdoor dancing is not illegal but not recommended.

Our venue won’t allow it on their grounds. Do you guys think it’ll be sensible to do the dance performance in the public park nearby? (while maintaining social distancing)

Have you asked your friends if they want to do this?

I agree with PP that you should check with friends first if they're up for something like that. People might get shy with doing a performance out in public. While going to a public park can be good as there's usually plenty of space and you don't pay it can also be unpredictable as you don't know who'll be there or how busy it'll be etc. That last element would stress me out but I am a worrier. Maybe ask around people who know your area well like you do and ask what they think.

I dearly love my close friends, but I'd sooner chop my feet off than do a choreographed dance at a wedding, let alone in a public place. In fact I'd find it painful to watch one.

All my friends are quite keen actually. They are all amateur dancers. I’m wondering whether we are legally allowed to dance in a public park under the current restrictions.

I think the park will be pretty quite on a Sunday evening.
