October 2021 wedding 23weeks pregnant now

So me and my partner are getting married at Edinburgh zoo in October. I'm currently 23weeks pregnant. We've only had the wedding booked since this January.

Everyone is starting to make me panic that I won't be able to get a dress in time. Baby is due July. Because of sizing and fittings they're saying it might be hard to find one and I'm starting to worry.

I was going to start looking before I my bump became so prominent. But lockdown didn't help and now my bump is definitely wayyy to big for sizing a wedding dress.

All I want to know is should I be worrying or will it be enough time between July and October to sort out a wedding dress?

Try Wed2be they have a large selection of beautiful dresses off the peg, you could could then get any alterations done by a seamstress.

In a standard bridal shop you might struggle to get a dress ordered and delivered in that time. My dress had a 6 month wait time to be delivered.

Most places do have off the rack & ex sample dresses now that you can take away that day.

Also look at Wed 2 b like pp mentioned they have some lovely dresses that can be taken away on the day too.

Not sure if this will help because I got married in 2015 so the situation was very different. By choice we had a 3 month engagement and planned the wedding within 2 months, so I didn’t have time to wait or shop around. I went to 1 shop, tried on 2 dresses and 2nd one was the one. We got engaged 13th January 2015, set the date mid February 2015, and got married 9th April 2015. And I was pregnant.

As soon as the date was set I went dress shopping. I knew I’d have to get a sample dress. Luckily I knew exactly what I wanted so it was easy for me. I went to a local independent bridal boutique, fortunately they were happy to sell me a shop floor sample, even though it meant they would no longer have it for other brides to be to try on.

My wedding was 9th April 2015. I went dress shopping and got my dress mid February. My first fitting was mid March, my second was the end of March and my final fitting was 5 days before the wedding as I was pregnant and wanted to keep the zip back on my dress as I don’t like corset backs at all. The in house seamstress did a fantastic job and it was absolutely perfect.

Though I know most people wouldn’t leave it that late and most places might not do that. But I didn’t have a choice and I was never worried about it not fitting perfectly or not being ready in time.

I just wanted to add that it can be done in a very short time frame, because mine was.

Hi, im due late September and marrying in August so sympathise! Obviously I'll still be pregnant so very much have a bump. I would recommend having a quick look at tiffany rose bridal/seraphine at their maternity bridal as a back up option as some of these would be suitable. If im right in thinking youll be a few weeks post partum? I know I find it hard to imagine how my body will be.

Lol ive just seen this isnt a recent post so youll have more time than i thought:)

You could definitely get a dress for then but it depends what you’re interested in. What kind of dress do you want? Some have to be ordered in as mentioned above and then fitted. I’m having a wedding on a limited budget and so my dress will be from a high street shop like Monsoon which would be ample time.

@kent1991 baby will be about 3 months old. But that is I'll have a look because god knows how my body is going to be then. Especially with this baby being my second.

@NinaMimi I think my biggest issue is I keep looking but I have no idea what I want either. All I know is I don't want anything too big and puffy.
